spring is in full swing & i am pumped about it. sunshine, heat and dresses are my jam & i can finally wear them on the daily. the season’s here in austin are intense, but i really feel like my mood changes for the better with the sunny weather. i love being outside in the sun & i’ve been trying to get as much of it as i possibly can.
it’s been a minute since i’ve taken the time to sit down with y’all on the blog. i’ve been instastorying my life away, that i wanted to hop on here to share some looks with ya. since moving- my style has definitely shifted. it’s warm as hack & let’s be real, sometimes not everyone is in the mood to wear bright colors and florals in the spring and summer months. there are certain days i want to be edgy, some days i want to be more sporty & others that i want to try something totally new. since moving to austin, i’ve had to get creative with my looks, because it’s warming up & i can’t wear my normal jeans and a tee uniform like i could when i lived in san francisco.
it’s that time of year! wedding season, bachelorette and bridal party time! since i’ve done wardrobe styling for years, my friends typically come to me for outfit recommendations when it comes to all things wedding!
today i want to share with you my favorite looks this year for the bachelorette, bridal shower, welcome dinner/drinks, rehearsal, rehearsal dinner & day after brunch. so many looks!
you know i love me a good rocker tee. i live in them, especially in the summer months. i always get asked where i find my tees, and to be honest, i find them all over! i’ll be linking all my favorites with you all at the bottom of this post.
city girls know the struggle for finding the perfect work clothes that are versatile. public transport, scooters, walking, bikes, busses- we need outfits that work for just about everything! i’ve found that the perfect work combo for me is sneakers or low boots, paired with my favorite stretchy jean (stretch is key when walking a ton), a simple tee and a jacket for layering (but not too heavy since us city girls know you get sweaty AF if it’s too warm).
one of the most common questions i get is what my favorite swimsuits are. well that’s such a loaded question, because there are so so many cute swimsuits out there that i absolutely adore. i have sporty suits, sexy suits, one pieces, bikinis and the list goes on! what i want to do for you today is share my favorites by category. i’ll be linking my favorite one pieces, high waisted bikinis as well as low rise bikinis & my favorite plus size swimsuits.
though the blogger world can sometimes be filled up with designer purses, fancy high heels & pretty dresses, my day to day looks a lot more like this. i work at a tech company where the environment is super casual. when i’m out running errands on the weekend, there’s no way you’ll see me all done up.
date night in full swing! i am all about heart eyes on valentine’s day. whether you’re single and ready to mingle with a galentine’s night out or in a relationship, i feel like valentine’s day can be fun for anyone. first things first, the outfit!
wearing this skirt a little different today. it’s the perfect color for fall and winter, and i decided to pair it with something i haven’t worn since i was a kid. tights haven’t been in my wardrobe again until this year and i can’t get enough. tights with tall boots have been my jam & it turns this look from a warm weather to cool weather look with just one swap!
i bought myself the first skirt last year that i had bought in years. when i finally wore it out, i was so surprised i got so many compliments on my legs and people telling me i should wear skirts more often. in SF the weather is pretty cold and there isn’t much opportunity to wear skirts. i never have thought much about showing my legs off, because i always just thought my legs look like my dads (he’s a cyclist). i’ve always known i have his strong legs (my sister does too), but we’ve always thought we have his “thunder thighs”. not to be shown off in a short skirt.
you’ve seen this skirt on me before. it’s because i’m completely obsessed and wear it any chance i get. blank nyc kills the skirt game and i just can’t get enough. i have this skirt in not one but two colors AND i just bought a similar one from them in another color. you see, i only share with you guys things i really am obsessed with.
these boots are made for walkin’ and that's just what these black suede boots will do! i can’t get enough of a great pair of boots. i’m a boot girl and i have absolutely no shame in my game. i have quite the collection of beautiful, affordable and most importantly comfortable boots. there’s nothing like the perfect pair and i’m here today to encourage you to get yourself the perfect pair for you. there are some important things to think of before purchasing. be sure before you shop for your next boot to read these tips and then pick your favorite that checks all the boxes.
whenever i head out on the town with girlfriends, we naturally start a group message to see what everyone is planning on wearing. this past weekend my reply was, “the usual”. my friends know i love a bodysuit, high waisted jeans and boots. i usually go for a black top, just because i know i’ll feel comfortable in them and let’s be real if i spill or sweat you can’t tell LOL. depending on the night i may throw on a jean jacket, a leather jacket, fuzzy coat or a trench.
as you have seen, i’ve been obsessed with this affordable teddy coat from Forever21. my favorite part about it, is it’s reasonably priced. though i love shopping, i really do pick and choose what i splurge on, and coats are not one of those things (i think everyone in CA should invest in a nice leather jacket and that’s about it).
there’s something about leather that is just so sexy. leather boots, jackets, skirts and leggings are always a good idea. i will say, if i wear leather it’s a big ticket item that i’ve spent months saving up for. i’ve wanted leather leggings for years, but the helmut lang pair that i want are over $600. i decided to give up on my legging hunt, until i found these bad boys.
there’s nothing like cozying up in your favorite sweaters when the cool weather hits. i’ve become obsessed with sherpa and shearling this Fall, thank god it’s “in” right now. wrap me up in the biggest jackets and sweaters and i can go anywhere.
i love me a good romper. if you’ve been following me for a bit, then you already know it’s sort of an obsession. i always go for one that ties or synchs at the waist, looking for one that is tight at the smallest part of my body (you’ll never see me in one that is tight around the lower part of my hips). i feel like the key to finding a good romper is where it hits you on your hips/waist. whatever your shape is, you just need to find the style that works with your body type.
you've probably seen this jumpsuit everywhere & if you haven't then you've most likely seen it a bunch on me, because i've literally worn it at least once a week since i purchased it (no shame in my re-wearing game). there are so many reasons i love this jumpsuit, but i'm going to share why i'm obsessed and why i bought it in two different colors.
some of my favorite things this summer are wide legged pants and bodysuits. there's just something so sexy about a bodysuit and something so comfy about wide legged pants. whenever i'm in the heat and headed out to dinner in the summer i love some flowy pants (or skirt) and a flattering top. this look is so so easy for you to recreate and i'll be linking my favorites that are similar to this look below.
