it's Sephora Sale time! I'm doing a huge roundup of my absolute favorite finds at Sephora. if you follow me on instagram, you know i've done a few live instagram stories makeup tutorials showing you just how i use these products. Sephora Rouge members, 15% off is going on now!!! Sephora VIB + Beauty Insiders, the sale is comin' for you soon, April 20–23. without further adieu, i give you my makeup routine.
step 1: prep the skin
the serum that doesn't make my combination skin too oily under my makeup is this stuff. it's so weightless and isn't marketed as a makeup primer, but is the perfect primer.
step 2: prep the eyes
this is a miracle under eye cream for the day. it not only gives your eyes a ton of moisture, but it's a serum so it doesn't make my makeup look cake-y!
step 3: foundation
i have two favorite foundations. i interchange both of them. the clinique foundation is a bit more heavy duty (full coverage) and the ysl foundation is lighter weight, but buildable in to fuller coverage. i always apply my foundation with a damp beauty blender so there are no streaks.
step 4: contour
whenever i'm going out and want to look really glammed up, i contour. i've tried so many types of countouring and i ended up trying out this foundation stick. the benefit of using a foundation stick vs contour stick is it lasts SO much longer. this one is my go-to and has lasted months! it's super easy to blend with a beauty blender.
step 5: conceal
the point of concealer is to brighten your under eyes (and hide bags if you have them). it's super important to get a concealer that isn't cake-y. i use all of these ones and love them. RMS is my daily gentle concealer that i wear to work. i love that it's organic and doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes. when going out i wear NARS or Naked. I use these tarte ones when I need extra extra coverage. i apply them with a damp beauty blender.
step 6: bake
i always immediately "bake" after i conceal. i dip my damp beauty blender (that already has concealer on it) in to a powder and pat under my eyes. this immediately sets & brightens your under eyes.
step 7: set your foundation with powder
it's time to set your makeup. i use the starlight powder mixed with a translucent powder and apply all over with this brush.
step 8: brows
i love my brows to be drawn in & the combo of these 2 products makes it pretty fool-proof. i've tried the pomades, powders & pens, but this is just easy and works best for me!
step 9: eyes
i've spoken about this tom ford cream shadow for a year now & it's by far my favorite beauty find ever. i use it all the time & it's perfect for the non-makeup-artist. all you need is a blending brush and this stuff, voila you're all set. finish the look with some mascara. if you're going out, maybe even add a glowy eyeliner!
step 10: bronze
we're almost done. a few final touches & you're ready to go. i've been using this hoola bronzer since high school & always go back to it. it lasts me 6+ months and i just love the color. i love using this brush with it & a little tip i put this brush in my purse so i can bronze when i'm gone if needed (or if im lookin' oily). i use this chanel brush (not included in sephora sale) and it's changed my life!
step 11: blush
i always add a bit of blush on to my cheeks to give me a bit of color, i like the peachy cheek look & use these two the most.
step 12: highlight
who doesn't love to GLOW. i am obsessed with highlighter & becca highlight is my ride or die. these are my favorites, i always apply on my nose & top of cheeks.
step 13: lips
i finish my look with lips! i line them and then put a lipstick on. i've been wearing the combo of these two lately & have been really feelin' the mix (and been getting lots of compliments).
